Terms of Service

Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Blane Steckline, the developer of Kappi. By downloading or using Kappi, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Kappi.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Kappi. Kappi is available for supported iPhone and iPad devices.

Apple's Terms

This agreement is between you and us, not Apple. Your use of Kappi is also subject to the Apple App Store Standard EULA. Apple is not responsible for Kappi or its content.

License

We give you a personal, limited, nonexclusive, and nontransferable license to use Kappi on devices you own or control. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works from Kappi
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble Kappi
• Sell, rent, lease, distribute, or sublicense Kappi
• Use Kappi for an unlawful purpose
• Remove legal or ownership notices from Kappi

Kappi Plus Subscriptions

Kappi Plus is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple. Apple handles all payments, and we do not receive your payment details.

• Your subscription renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current billing period ends.
• A free trial becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings.
• Apple handles refund requests.

Screen Time and App Blocking

Kappi uses Apple's Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks. You must grant Screen Time permission before Kappi can block apps.

• iOS enforces each block. Changes to iOS, Screen Time settings, or device restrictions may interrupt blocking.
• Some rules allow you to leave a block. Hard Mode and Allow Only rules do not allow unblocks, so you must disable the rule to access those apps.
• Kappi is not a parental control, medical, or therapeutic product.

Third-Party Services

Kappi uses RevenueCat for subscription management, PostHog for limited app analytics, and Appstack for advertising attribution in versions where attribution is enabled. Their privacy policies explain how they process data:

We are not responsible for the content, policies, or actions of third-party services to the extent allowed by law.

Termination

We may suspend or end your access to Kappi if you breach these terms. When access ends, your license to use Kappi ends too.

Disclaimers and Liability

Kappi is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no warranties that Kappi will always be available, error-free, compatible with every device or system, or suitable for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses related to your use of Kappi, including lost profits, lost data, business interruption, personal injury, or loss of privacy.

Our total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid for Kappi or $100 USD if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits, so these limits may not fully apply to you.

Governing Law and Disputes

California law governs these terms, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, contact us and try to resolve the issue informally. Mandatory consumer protections in your country or region still apply.

United States Legal Compliance

You confirm that you are not located in a country under a United States government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on a United States government restricted parties list.

Severability and Waiver

If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest remains in effect. A delay in enforcing a right does not waive that right or any later breach.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. For material changes, we will make a reasonable effort to give at least 30 days' notice. Using Kappi after new terms take effect means you accept them. If you do not agree, stop using Kappi.
