What is Kappi?
Kappi is a screen time blocker for iPhone and iPad with a heart. A little pixel-art kappa balances a bowl of water on its head. When you protect your focus, the bowl stays full and Kappi thrives. When you push past your own limits, the bowl drains. It turns blocking distracting apps into caring for a small companion instead of fighting a timer.
How does the blocking actually work?
Kappi uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks, the same system Apple uses for its own app limits. When a protection window is active, iOS itself shields the apps you chose. That means real OS-level blocking, not just a reminder you can swipe away.
Can I get around a block?
Yes, Kappi believes you're an adult. Every shield has a "Leave anyway" option if you really need the app. But each time you push through, Kappi's bowl drains a little more, and Kappi reacts. The goal is to make giving in feel like a real choice instead of a reflex.
Why does Kappi need Screen Time permission?
iOS requires apps to ask for Screen Time (Family Controls) permission before they can block anything. Kappi uses that permission only to apply the shields you set up. If you ever deny or revoke it, you can re-enable it in Settings, and Kappi will wait patiently.
Which devices does Kappi support?
Kappi runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 18.0 or later. It's not yet available on Android or other platforms.
Can Kappi see which apps I block?
No. Your app selection is stored only on your device using Apple's privacy-preserving tokens. Kappi can count how many apps you protect, but it can never see their names, and that information never leaves your iPhone.
How do I manage or cancel Kappi Plus?
Kappi Plus is billed through your Apple ID. You can manage, cancel, or restore your subscription anytime in the iPhone Settings app under your Apple ID's Subscriptions section. Refund requests go through Apple, since Apple processes all payments.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app, and everything stored on your device goes with it. Kappi has no accounts and stores nothing personal on servers. If you use the optional iCloud sync for settings, you can remove that data from your iCloud storage in Settings as well.
